Location: Swainsboro, GA
SelecSource seeking a dependable and hardworking Welders to support daily operations within our steel manufacturing facility. This position involves assisting with production processes, material handling, equipment cleaning, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The ideal candidate should have Welding experience and be well spoken with a great attitude and solid work history.
Must be qualified for the job position - at least 1 year recent experience preferred. Overtime is available and there is room for growth. This is a temp to hire opportunity with a great company!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with loading, unloading, and moving steel materials throughout the facility
- Fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment through the use of welders, cutters, shapers and measuring tools.
- Support machine operators and production staff as needed
- Read and interpret diagrams, sketches and blueprints to determine operations, required materials and timeframes for projects.
- Clean work areas, machinery, and plant floors to maintain housekeeping standards
- Inspect materials for visible defects or damage
- Produce metal products according to employer specifications
- Follow plant safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times
- Help with routine maintenance tasks under supervision
- Report equipment issues or safety concerns promptly
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisors to support plant operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred
- Previous manufacturing or industrial experience preferred but not required
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
- Ability to stand, bend, climb, and work in hot or noisy environments
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or rotating shifts if needed
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy materials
- Standing for extended periods
- Exposure to heat, dust, noise, and moving machinery
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
