TIG Welder
Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Reads and interprets engineering prints and/or manufacturing manuals, bills of material, code charts, and/or verbal/written instructions to determine necessary requirements for the job.
Performs combination welding including mig and tig with a knowledge of chemical composition of alloy in welding rod for various types of material.
Must be proficient in Tig welding stainless steel
Uses a variety of precision measuring and gauging instruments e.g Tape Measure, scale, calipers, micrometers, etc., to accurately set up equipment/machines, inspect and verify conformance of parts to specifications/tolerances.
As required, cleans or degreases work piece using wire brush, portable grinder or repairs broken or cracked parts, fills chips or grinds off excess weld, slag or splatter. Welds in any position which includes overhead weld lines.
Responsible for deburring all necessary parts after fabricating operation to meet required specifications/tolerances.
Must be able to operate various machines like Bandsaws, Grinders, Press, Time Saver ,Belt sanders etc.
Strictly follows all job safety requirements which includes forklift operation, hoist operation and housekeeping.
Regular attendance and daily punctuality are necessary for performing the job.
Performs additional duties and assignments as directed by management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
3-4 years' experience as a welder
High school degree or GED, prefer completion of a formal apprenticeship program
High mental and visual abilities and good math skills which includes knowledge of fraction principles
Ability to read, write and comprehend English and work well with others
May require lifting of parts and/or equipment up to 50 pounds
Overtime may be required
