Now Hiring: Patient Referral Coordinator (Full-Time)
Pay: $18.00 $21.00/hour
Schedule: Full-Time (8:00am to 5:00pm)
Location: Bluffton, Sc 29910
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Patient Referral Coordinator to support patient care coordination and scheduling. This role is essential in ensuring patients receive timely, accurate referrals and understand their insurance benefits, while delivering an excellent overall experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate patient referrals with providers, specialists, and facilities
- Obtain authorizations and ensure compliance with current federal guidelines
- Verify insurance coverage and educate patients on benefits
- Schedule appointments, diagnostic testing, and follow-up services
- Maintain accurate documentation within electronic medical records (EMR)
- Address and resolve minor patient billing inquiries
- Answer phones and manage appointment scheduling systems
- Review schedules to ensure proper time allocation and accuracy
- Follow up on referrals to prevent gaps in care
- Process routine financial transactions, including deposits and credit payments
- Maintain a clean and professional office environment
- Support office growth through patient engagement and community outreach efforts
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience preferred
- EMR experience preferred
- Strong computer skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
