IT Support Specialist
Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Helps the organization optimize use of technology, address and resolve technical issues, document configurations and resolutions, and manage the technological infrastructure to meet the needs of the business.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Primary accountability for specific functions and results)
- Serves as a positive role model consistent with our corporate culture at all times.
- Resolve tickets representing technical requests and/or problems in a timely manner.
- Troubleshoot technical and process issues. Documenting resolutions and configuration changes.
- Documents, implements, maintains, and supports I.T infrastructure to include, but not limited to desktops, laptops, peripherals, network equipment, and software applications.
- Perform regular patch maintenance on I.T. supported devices within the company.
- Test/Install/Upgrade application software to support company operations.
- Monitoring hardware, software, and system performance metrics
- Creates and maintains user accounts in Active Directory, Office365 and other applications.
- Stays informed and educated on new and emerging technologies.
- Travels to manufacturing locations and for training as required.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES (Not essential & could be performed by others, if necessary)
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
To perform at a proficient level and to be fully qualified, a person would be expected to have:
Education: (minimum required)
Associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or similar.
Experience: (minimum required)
2 or more years business experience supporting and managing Windows desktops and servers Licenses/Certifications: (minimum required)
CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ preferred (or equivalent experience)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (minimum required):
- Ability to anticipate, analyze, and solve a wide variety of technical problems
- Ability to work independently and grasp new tasks quickly
- Excellent verbal and written communications
- In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networks.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to sit for extended periods of time while conducting work on computer workstations including mouse, keyboard and monitor.
- Able to communicate via phone, e-mail, or in person with internal and external customers.
- Able to constantly move about the facility.
- Able to operate standard office machines.
- Able to travel independently.
