Payroll & Benefits Administrator

Position Summary

The Payroll & Benefits Administrator will primarily be responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing for approximately 100 employees as well as providing benefits administration support on a day to day basis. Responsibilities include but not limited to: processing bi-weekly payroll; administrative duties and coordination in areas of benefits, recruiting, onboarding as well as other general HR support functions as required.  The best fit for this position is someone who is a professional who exudes high energy; enjoys a fast paced work environment; has general HR, payroll and benefits experience. Essential Job Duties :

 

(Payroll Administration)

 

         Responsible for all aspects of payroll administration in Ulti-Pro and ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely. 

o   Specifically processes bi-weekly payroll and HR changes such as new hires, terminations, address changes, rate changes, tax (W4) changes, garnishments, benefit deductions, status changes, etc.

o   Prepares and issues manual payroll checks as necessary.

         Monitor timekeeping records and follow up with supervisors/managers to ensure all employee time is entered and approved accurately.

         Researches, analyzes and resolves employee payroll issues effectively, timely and in a professional manner.

         Prepare payroll and ad-hoc reports as requested by HR Manager and/or management team.

         Maintaining accurate time and attendance records.  This includes accurate PTO/vacation/sick time accrual for all employees.

         Enforce established payroll related policies, procedures and regulations.

         Other duties as assigned.

(Benefits Administration)

 

         Assist with new hire onboarding orientations while also performing background, drug testing and I-9 verifications.

         Recordkeeping: assist HR Manager with the maintenance of all personnel files, benefits and related employment documents in compliance with organization s policies and applicable legal requirements.

         Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions.

         Serve as a point of contact for employee benefit questions, enrollments, changes, qualifying events, etc.

         Escalate issues and complex questions to HR Manager as needed.

         Act as a liaison with benefit carriers and third-party administrators to ensure employee benefits questions and issues are resolved.

         Act as a liaison with other HR vendors, staffing firms, etc.

         Audit monthly benefits billing to ensure enrollment accuracy. Resolve discrepancies as needed.

         Assist with and provide support for all stages of company-wide benefits renewal and open enrollment. 

         Provide overall general support to HR Manager during interviewing, selection and hiring processes along with assistance during employee terminations, exit interview preparation, etc.

Experience and/or Educational Requirements :

 

         Minimum 2 -3 years experience working in an HR, payroll and benefit administration environments.

         Must have solid working experience using Ulti-Pro or similar payroll platform.

         Time and attendance system experience required.

         BSwift (Benefits) experience desired.

         Strong/advanced Microsoft Office Skills: Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint with strong Word skills. Must be able to create fillable forms
