Essential Job Functions
Oversee all aspects of a department material handlers associate training and development in order to meet daily production goals and in accordance with safety guidelines.
Monitor the performance of department associates, through hands on interaction, coaching,
performance counseling and corrective action.
Write and conduct performance appraisals.
Document departmental business processes and procedures and utilize in staff training,
development and performance counseling. Revise and keep processes current as business
processes change.
Instills corporate culture in supervisory practices.
Use performance & production reporting to track team performance and meet labor
management goals.
Monitors departmental and building goals to ensure the goals are met on a monthly basis, with
a focus on cost per unit, on time customer delivery, accuracy and overall building cleanliness.
Develop revised workflow procedures designed to reduce labor costs. Utilize cross training to
move department associates between departments to minimize temporary staffing labor costs.
Work with Manager to ensure daily staffing levels are adequate to make production goal.
Oversee, train and monitor the performance of Staffing Agency temporary employees.
Collaborate with DC Management & peer Supervisory team to prioritize and delegate daily
workload to meet building production goals and scheduled carrier pick-up appointments.
Partner with other departments to ensure adequate work is processed and distributed to the floor in order to meet daily production goals. Work together to improve processes that will improve work flow.
Works with other Supervisors to understand customer compliance requirements and
chargeback penalties related to outbound shipments in order to meet standard and minimize
chargeback penalties.
Accountable for all department orders leaving the warehouse. Works with other Supervisors to
ensure shipments are processed & manifested correctly on a daily basis according to customer
shipping dates..
Uses reporting tools to plan, monitor, prepare and audit all outbound orders.
Ability to operate all lift equipment as well as hand trucks, pallet jacks and riding floor jacks
according to safety guidelines.
Work with IT department for resolution with system issues and corrections.
Oversee and/or perform general housekeeping and maintenance of the warehouse work areas
as needed.
